PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Fevicol PL 101 is a two component, solvent borne polyurethane adhesive specially developed for footwear and other allied industries.
APPLICATION AREAS: Fevicol PL 101 is mainly used in sole attaching application viz. bonding of unit soles made of PVC, PU to Leather, Synthetic fabric uppers etc. This adhesive can also be used for bonding soles made of Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR), Resin/Microcellular rubber soles & EVA soles after necessary surface preparation. APPLICATION INSTRUCTION: Prepare the substrates to be bonded appropriately as follows I)
SURFACE PREPARATION A) UPPER i) Leather - Roughen to remove the grain layer upto feather edge.
ii) PVC (Synthetic) - Lightly roughen & clean with Cleaner-303 / 301
iii) PU Patent Leather - Roughen to remove PU film & leather grain to within 3 mm edge of the sole.
iv) Fabric - Natural Fabrics do not require any treatment while certain synthetic fabrics like Nylon require special primer treatment.
B) SOLING i) Leather - Roughen to remove loose flesh fibres.
ii) PVC - Wipe with Cleaner-303 / 301. Change the wiping cloth after every 5-6 pairs to avoid contamination. Allow to dry for 5 minutes.
iii) Vulcanized Resin or Microcellular Rubber - Roughen and clean with Cleaner 301 followed by halogenation with Primer TPR-22 (Follow the instructions provided with Primer TPR while halogenating). Allow the surface to activate for minimum 30 minutes.
iv) Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) - Halogenate with Primer TPR-22 using a soft metal free brush (Follow all the instructions provided with Primer TPR-22). Allow the TPR surface to activate for minimum 30 minutes.
v) Polyurethane Cellular/Solid - Light roughening and wipe with Cleaner-303/301.Two wipes with 5 minutes gap.
vi) EVA - Roughen and then give a primer coat with Pidiprimer E9294 / EVA 202

APPLICATION METHOD : -- Surface to be bonded should be dry, clean, and leveled -- Stir the adhesive properly before use -- Apply the adhesive first on non porous surface and then on porous surface -- Allow a minimum drying time of approx 4-6 minutes at room temperature and bond the surfaces carefully so that the alignment is as required -- Give appropriate pressure -- final bond is achieved in 24 hrs

TECHNICAL DATASHEET PRODUCT : FEVICOL SR 998 DESCRIPTION: FEVICOL SR 998is a synthetic rubber based solvent borne contact adhesive. It exhibits immediate bond strength. The adhesive dries to a tough, flexible film with good resistance to water and aging. This adhesive can be applied by brush or a rollercoater.
APPLICATION AREA: FEVICOL SR 998a high strength multipurpose contact adhesive is used to bond flexible as well as rigid substrates. It exhibits outstanding bond to vulcanized rubber, Microcellular rubber, Microcellular EVA, Painted metal, Mild steel, Glass, Galvanized steel, Chip board, Polyurethane foam, Polystyrene sheet, porous substrates like Leather, Leather board, Cementatious flooring, GRP, Rigid PVC Boards etc., which are encountered in Automotive, Railway, Vehicle Building, Ship building, Construction, Electrical, Electronic and many other industries.
FEVICOL SR 998also finds application in insulation industry where flexible elastomeric (micro cellular natural rubber foam) material in sheet or tube form is bonded to metal ducting. Generally nonpolar substrates like Polyethylene foam material used extensively in specializedpackaging or some insulation applications, Polypropylene surfaces do not give adequate bond with any adhesive material, while
FEVICOL SR998gives satisfactory to holding bond in such situations. It is recommended not to apply this adhesive directly on Styrofoam (Thermocole) as this surface gets badly affected by solvent in the adhesive. In insulation applications, Thermocole can be bonded easily by applying FEVICOL SR998 on the other nonaffecting surface such as cement or steel
METHOD OF APPLICATION :1. Clean the substrates to be bonded. Surfaces must be dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, mould release agent and other contaminants. 2. Using a painting brush applyFEVICOL SR998uniformly on both the substrates to be bonded. Porous substrates may require a second coat, which can be applied after 510 minutes of first coat.
